Goa Beaches
Goa has an enviable stretch of beaches complete with tourist friendly facilities and accommodation.
Anjuna, Baga, Calangute, Candolim Dona Paula and Vagator are the major attractions that provide spectacular scenic beauty with palm trees giving the final aesthetic touch.
Goa offers the best holidays on its beaches especially
at Carnival time during Christmas.
Vagator
Vagator is one of the most beautiful of the soft white sand beaches Goa is famous for. The inhabited area around this beach is lush green, dotted with coconut palms, friendly farmhouses and pictorial Portuguese bungalows.
On the north-west corner of the city are the remains of the Chapora fort. The fort is well preserved and offers some splendid views from its ramparts.
A ten minute walk south of the Big Vagator is Ozran, also known as 'Little Vagator'.
Vagator is a good vacation option for sea enthusiasts.

Anjuna
That at Anjuna spreads
long and the waters are gentle affording you pleasures
like crowded boat rides, motor scooter rides,
spot-the-dolphins rides, and motorboat rides.
Dona Paula
Dona Paula Beach is nestled on the southern side of the
rocky hammer-shaped headlands that divide the Zuari and
Mandovi estuaries. Providing a good view of the Mormugao
harbour, this beach is fringed by palm trees and
casuarina groves. The proximity of the beach to the
capital city makes it a popular tourist sight.
Water sport facilities are the key attraction of this
beach. The Dona Paula Sports Club offers water-scooter,
cycle, and motorboat rides. Other water sports include
windsurfing, parasailing, water-skiing, sports fishing,
kayaking and yachting. The beach also has a colorful
water sports festival in November.
Colva beach and Benaulim are quieter and less crowded
than Anjuna.
The beach at Calangute is rocky. The Fort Aguada beach offers gorgeous views
that merit a visit. Sinquerim and Candolim are also
quiet beaches that afford anonymity. It's the authentic
thing hidden away behind the imposing Fort Aguada Beach
Resort that is itself the ultimate word in tropical
luxury.
When to visit: The best time of the year to visit this area is between September and March.
